“We have just had the most fantastic holiday at Daffodil Cottage near Haddington/Edinburgh. The cottage is really lovely with everything you need to ensure your stay is home from home. The estate is fantastic for wildlife with peacocks visiting us every morning, foxes and deer running across the fields and the most gorgeous sunrises. The owner was lovely...very friendly and attentive. The cottage is so near so many places of interest it is a perfect spot to stay whether you are wanting to relax or discover, and we certainly did both. Thank you so much. We will definitely come back.”
“We absolutely loved the cottage and its location. We were looking for peace and tranquility and the cottage ticked the box. The patio at the back is ideal for sitting and watching the scenery and wildlife, and it is in the sun for most of the day. The cottage rooms were larger that expected, which was a wonderful surprise. There were plenty of walks from the cottage so the car was not required. Thank you to the owner for the lovely welcome basket. I definitely want to rebook Daffodil cottage again.”
“We had a wonderful stay at Daffodil cottage. It was very well equipped for a holiday cottage and the décor is beautifully presented and very new. Annabel was a fantastic host. The cottage is in a quite location which was perfect for what we wanted but it's easy to get into Edinburgh as the A1 is only a mile away. It's a shame we didn't see the Daffodils as we left just before they were going to bloom but I imagine it would look beautiful. If you are looking for a quite and relaxing place then look no further than this cottage.”
“Lovely cosy little cottage in such a peaceful location - but only half an hour into middle of Edinburgh and added bonus of deer, pheasants and rabbits on the door step! We stayed during the festival and it was really great to escape the buzz of the city and get back to the tranquility of Daffodil Cottage. Annabel was a fantastic host, and was more than happy to forward on an item we had left behind.”
“We stayed for a week in September 2018 and enjoyed ourselves immensely. The accommodations were perfect and made a wonderful home to return to each night. Out the kitchen window, we had gorgeous sunrises over the same field where we watched deer and peacocks browsing. The house was very clean and the beds were completely comfortable. It was central for touring, whether to Edinburgh, the seacoast or over to Hawick. We loved it and would return. It was curious though how our GPS took us home through the field each time, it was always a treat! Thank you Annabel!”
“Daffodil Cottage is a lovely well maintained cottage in East Lothian. We had the most enjoyable time here. We were visited daily by peacocks and pheasant and other wildlife. Could not recommend it more highly. Will definitely return. Thank you for such a lovely time.”
“It’s perfectly out in the country, yet very convenient to Edinburgh and surrounding area. We were a family of four with two younger kids, and the layout with two bedrooms was perfect for our home away from home. I’d recommend this cottage, and would definitely stay here again if our travels bring us to Edinburgh again!”
“This is a fantastic cottage, rooms bigger than they look on line. The location is great, very quiet and private and within easy reach of all the amenities Haddington, Edinburgh and East Lothian have to offer. Deer feeding in the fields as you do the washing up! Great recycling facilities. Very clean and bright.”
